's a problem. and particularly because anywhere from 71-75% of the latino community voted for president obama. a high water mark since bill clinton's reelection against bob dole in '96. they just don't know what to make of it. and the first thing they gravitate toward is this old line of having to change the tone or the message. what they're not getting is it's not just about changing the tone. it's not just about not talking ablt electrified fences and not being uncivil. it's also about fundamentally changing the policies that they embrace. being more willing to engage in conversations and discussions and actually get comprehensive reform done. get the dream act done. think about and include the latino community as part of the fabric, the family of the united states, which it clearly is and always has been, when they think about the latino community, you can tell that both in tone and in policy, they think of it as something foreign. and that's not the case at all. so they need to improve both the tone, but, more importantly, they need to change the policy behind the party. >> talking about

republicans called their bill to repeal obama care? i do. it was an act to repeal the job killing health care law. now, the whole job killing thing has always been a bit of a talking point myth. a nonpartisan study of the very similar health insurance mandate enacted six years in massachusetts showed, quote, no evidence of reduced employment as a result of health reform there. still, that argument, the whole job killing obama care thing, sent the owner of red lobster and a bunch of other very carb friendly restaurant chains on a hapless misadventure in corporate protest that culminated today in a public and embarrassing and informative way. back in october, company called darden restaurants announced they were putting more workers on part-time status in stead of full-time to see if they would be able to limit the cost of complying with the new health reform law. under the new law, big companies like darden have to either offer health insurance or pay a $2,000 fine for each full-time employee. over 30 employees who ends up using public subsidies to buy health care. you catch those words there,

is right. this was the exact thing they voters for obama decided to shoot down this union bill. >> it's surprising. >> it caught us all by surprise. it isn't going to be like wisconsin. i think this bill is going to pass. and the situation in wisconsin was different. you had to get a quorum, and they tried to prevent a vote on the bill and took a month of protests. i don't think that will happen. just need a simple majority in michigan and they will pass the bill and they won't have a chance to repeal it until 2014. they will have to win back the senate, the house and the governor. >> it is likely to stop in michigan. you look at states with right to work legislation, the whole deep south and a couple states in the west but the upper midwest and northeast has tried to stay away from that because of the strong tradition of union organizing in the state. you have indiana going the other direction and michigan looking like they might, and wisconsin could be next up although the governor hasn't said how he's going to proceed on that and i think it's going to embolden the an eye union forc
